Our techno-pro’ trustees are now helping businesses (including schools, kura, charities etc.) realise their energy efficiency dreams, for free.
The Business Energy Service launched in a grand event hosted by Ōtaki College.
It was attended by Hon Barbara Edmonds (outgoing Minister of Economic Development); Ōtaki's former MP Terisa Ngobi; KCDC Mayor Janet Holborow; Horowhenua Mayor Bernie Wanden, and many supporters and collaborators old and new.
(Not alas the Prime Minister, who had COVID-19.)
"Our focus is on finding simple, appropriate-scaled technologies and solutions, with an eye to affordable capital operating costs." - Founding trustee Dr. Gael Ferguson
Warm congratulatory speeches were followed by korero over tea and cake.
Guests could inspect - even try out! - award-winning go-carts on site, designed by College students and partly funded by our Whakahiko Ōtaki–Energise Ōtaki Fund.
Witana Cameron's red 'Waka Iti' (aka 'Lightning McQueen') won this year's E-Volocity 'Endurance' and 'Efficiency' prizes (among many others). Two words we'll be looking to realise in the Business Energy Service's 'better energy' plans.
