Ōtaki Repair Café volunteers gave 220 hours last month to repair 99 items.
Each item brought in is weighed and logged. Calculating what it would take to make and ship in a replacement, we figure we collectively saved almost a TONNE of climate-crisis-causing carbon emissions.
Special feature: 'Sparkles' jewellery fixer Nina using her grandfather's watchmaking and her uncle's dentistry tools, while her daughter Maia keeps the other volunteers well fed. Ka rawe - fantastic.
